A large-scale shift to organic farming may drive climate change, not solve it.

Compost ... carbon friendly, but there are other greenhouse gases to consider.

Organic farming has many environmental benefits but combating climate change is not necessarily one of them, according to a US agricultural scientist who has queried a recent report from the British Soil Association suggesting large-scale conversion to organic agriculture would sequester significant amounts of atmospheric carbon dioxide in farm soil.
